The Top Reasons to Use VPN Service in 2014

The Top Reasons to Use VPN Service in 2014

Encryption is the best route to online safety and privacy in 2014. A private VPNconnection is now the surest tool to provide that secure layer of encryption and privacy. TorGuard’s anonymous VPN service will help you to keep your search habits and personal information secret, protect your IP address so websites can’t associate them with your browsing habits, hide your activity on public Wi-Fi hotspots to keep bad guys out, bypass censorship to access blocked websites, and safeguard your right to online privacy.Whatever your reason for increased privacy online may be, secure VPN service remains the top choice for protection. Here are the top 10 reasons of 2014 to use VPN service:

1. Public Wifi Security

Most people are completely oblivious to the fact that public wifi hotspots like those seen at Starbucks or hotels are not safe to access personal email and websites on. Public wifi is wide open to its users and everything you do on a public wifi network is easily available for eavesdropping. Even the most novice computer user can intercept or potentially record your personal data over an un-protected wifi network. The need for public wifi security remains the most popular reason why users on the go should consider spending $5 per month on VPN service.

2. Unblock Netflix, Hulu and more…

Due to regional restrictions, services like Netflix, Hulu and Pandora are not accessible from outside US borders. This means that if you are traveling internationally or working abroad, you won’t have access to your favorite programming. The method for blocking by these services is carried out by filtering user’s IP addresses. By using TorGuard’s VPN services you can mask your IP address, making it appear that you are residing within the USA. Connect up to five devices at once to any USA VPN IP and instantly unblock services like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Amazon Instant Video and more!

3. Anonymous Bittorrent Downloading…

When you download or seed a torrent, you’re connecting to a bunch of other people, called a swarm, all of whom—in order to share files—can see your computer’s IP address. That’s great for data transfer but not so good for your pesonal privacy. Whether you just want to keep “big brother” out of your private business or simply prevent torrent bandwidth throttling by an ISP, if you’re really serious about keeping your bittorrent download activity private and anonymous, your best option is to route your connection through an encrypted torrent VPN service like TorGuard.

4. Tunnel Through Work or School Networks…

Many school/university or corporate wifi networks have very strictly firewall policies and will block popular websites access – with no exceptions. These blocks usually include bittorrent, Netflix, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and often times personal email accounts like Gmail and Yahoo. Using a VPN allows the user to tunnel through the restrictive networks and instantly unblock otherwise restricted websites. Since the VPN encrypts everything you do, the actions won’t be decipherable by a nosey network administrator.

5. Bypass Government Firewalls…

Anyone who has traveled to China or parts of the UAE know the strict Internet regulation imposed by the government. Twitter, Facebook and Google remain blocked and/or filtered in this region of the world. TorGuard Stealth VPN service is a privacy tool that empowers one to bypass censorship anywhere – even China. Unlike normal VPN traffic which can be filtered or blocked by an ISP, TorGuard Stealth VPN service will appear as regular traffic making it virtually impossible to block. This VPN service connection also features increased encryption protocols making it the most secure VPN experience possible, worldwide.

6. Search Google in Privacy..

All major search engines today record every query typed into their engine and associate these to an IP address. Since your personal IP rarely changes, this info is stored for long periods of time making it easy to identify your name and address. What you thought were once “private searches” are now not so private at all. TorGuard VPN service can restore your privacy while conducting searches on the internet. When you connect to our anonymous VPN service to browse, your real IP is hidden allowing only our VPN server IP to show. When using TorGuard, your web queries will become nobody’s business but your own.

  1. Thanks for the article, Evangelin. I personally use the UnoTelly DNS option. It’s ideal for content streaming because unlike VPNs, there is no internet speed loss when using it.
